Job description
Role overview
The Venture Capital Analyst will focus on sourcing, assessing, and supporting investments in startups and other fast-growing businesses. The position is central to spotting promising companies, studying market potential, and turning research into investment recommendations that inform strategic choices.
What you'll do
This role covers market and industry research, trend analysis, and close tracking of startup ecosystems and new technologies. You will assess companies by looking at their business model, scale potential, competitive strengths, and overall growth trajectory.
You will also carry out financial analysis and valuation work, including reviewing financial statements, studying revenue streams, building projections, and evaluating key metrics to judge investment attractiveness and possible returns.
Another part of the job is supporting deal sourcing by finding promising startups, following funding activity, and building relationships across the founder and investor network. This helps maintain a healthy funnel of investment opportunities.
The role further includes participation in due diligence, where you will assess leadership teams, market conditions, operating performance, and business risks. You will prepare investment notes, market research, financial models, and memorandums for internal use.
You will also track portfolio companies by monitoring financial results, growth indicators, fundraising updates, and strategic progress, while contributing insights that support portfolio management and value creation.
Working alongside investment professionals, founders, advisors, and other stakeholders, you will help move deals forward and support portfolio growth. Success in this role depends on strong analysis, financial understanding, and commercial judgment.
