Where you'll work
Job description
About the company
Caya develops software that removes the burden of paperwork by automating document-heavy workflows from start to finish. The company helps businesses save valuable time through an AI-powered platform, supporting customers such as EG Group, WWF, Flink, and Axel Springer so they can focus on their core work instead of administrative tasks.
Role overview
As a UX/UI Designer, you will play a key role in shaping the product experience at Caya. You will collaborate closely with Product and Tech, contribute your own ideas, and use AI tools confidently as a natural part of your day-to-day design process. The role calls for someone who is hands-on, has strong visual judgement, and is eager to move things forward independently.
What you'll do
- Create visual interfaces that align with Caya’s brand identity and design guidelines, while also helping evolve them further.
- Own the design of web and mobile experiences from early wireframes and prototypes through to polished final specifications.
- Use AI tools purposefully for tasks such as research, generation, and iteration to improve speed and quality.
- Conduct user research and usability testing, collect feedback, and refine designs accordingly.
- Maintain and expand the design system and pattern library to ensure consistency across web and mobile products.
- Work directly with engineering teams to make sure your designs can be implemented effectively.
- Stay informed about new design trends, AI tools, and best practices in the B2B SaaS space.
What we're looking for
- At least 2 years of experience in UX/UI design, ideally in a B2B SaaS environment.
- Strong knowledge of user-centered design principles for web and mobile products, along with experience in user research methods.
- Hands-on experience building and maintaining design systems and pattern libraries.
- A proactive, self-directed way of working with the drive to take initiative without waiting for instructions.
- Regular and confident use of AI tools in your design workflow.
- Useful knowledge of frontend technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Fluency in German and English due to work with international teams and mostly German-speaking customers.
Benefits
- Have a real say in how the product and internal processes evolve; your suggestions are listened to and considered.
- Enjoy direct impact on the product, with fewer approval loops and faster execution.
- Work with AI as a standard part of the workflow and freedom to explore new tools and methods.
- Choose flexibly between home office and office work, with a requirement to live in Berlin and meet colleagues in the Kreuzberg office 2–3 times per week.
- Arrange your working hours flexibly within the company’s core hours.
- Receive a laptop and equipment for working from home.
- Join a friendly, ambitious, and open team through digital collaboration, in-office work, and team events.
- Benefit from a permanent contract and allowances for Urban Sports, BVG, or other mobility providers.
Culture and application notes
Diversity is treated as a core principle, and candidates of all ages, genders, backgrounds, abilities, and sexual identities are encouraged to apply. Applicants are also welcome even if they do not meet every requirement, since strong candidates may not fit a perfect checklist. The working model is not a rigid 9-to-5 schedule; instead, the focus is on flexibility, efficiency, and delivering strong results while using the setup that works best for you.
Working arrangement
This role is based in Berlin and follows a hybrid setup, with a residential requirement in Berlin and regular on-site collaboration in Kreuzberg 2–3 times per week. Flexible working hours are available within core business hours.
