Job description

About the Company

Agility Robotics builds and deploys humanoid robots that work alongside teams in warehouses, manufacturing plants, and distribution facilities. These robots are designed to take on physically demanding, repetitive work so people can spend more time on higher-value tasks. Backed by strong safety standards and deployment experience, the company is helping shape the future of automation.

About the Role

Agility Robotics is hiring a UX/UI Designer to create clear, attractive, and easy-to-use digital experiences that help people operate, monitor, and manage robotic systems. You will partner with engineers, product managers, and researchers to turn complex technical workflows into practical and polished interfaces.

Robotics background is useful but not mandatory. The key requirements are the ability to break down complexity, keep the user experience central, and contribute thoughtfully in cross-functional teams. This is a remote-friendly position, with a strong preference for candidates near an office for occasional in-person collaboration, meetings, and events.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the full design workflow for robot and web-based interfaces, from initial wireframes and prototypes through final assets ready for engineering implementation.
  • Refine and improve the user experience and visual design of features built by the development team.
  • Create strong interface experiences for robot operator tools, dashboards, and mobile, web, and VR applications.
  • Build and maintain design systems and style guides to keep experiences consistent across products.
  • Work closely with product and engineering teams to ensure ideas are feasible technically and aligned with business goals.
  • Support user research and usability testing efforts with the HRI/UX Researcher, then iterate based on findings.
  • Design intuitive visuals for live data, robot health/status, and system controls.
  • Keep up with current UX/UI standards, tools, and design trends.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, or a related discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in UX/UI design.
  • A portfolio that shows strong user-centered design work across software or web products.
  • Experience designing complex systems, dashboards, or technical enterprise tools.
  • Comfort using design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD.
  • Experience with prototyping and usability testing.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, plus the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Current authorization to work in the United States.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Exposure to robotics, IoT, or industrial automation interfaces.
  • Basic knowledge of front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to help with design-engineering collaboration.

Work Location

This is a fully remote position, with the option to work in a hybrid setup if you are within commuting distance of the Salem, OR, Pittsburgh, PA, or Fremont, CA offices. Preference is strongest for candidates near Fremont, CA.

Compensation

The anticipated base salary for this role is USD 128,000 to USD 200,000 per year. The final offer will depend on factors such as market location, relevant knowledge, skills, and experience.

Total Rewards and Benefits

  • 401(k) plan with a 6% company match.
  • Equity in the form of company stock options.
  • Employer-paid medical, dental, vision, and short- and long-term disability coverage for employees.
  • Benefits become active on the first day of employment.
  • Employee Assistance Program for well-being support.
  • Flexible, unlimited PTO for exempt employees, plus 12 company holidays including a winter shutdown.
  • For non-exempt employees: 10 vacation days, paid sick leave, and 12 company holidays including a winter shutdown each year.
  • Catered lunches four times per week and healthy snacks and refreshments at the Salem and Pittsburgh locations.
  • Paid parental leave programs.
  • Flexible work culture.
  • Professional development and tuition reimbursement support.
  • Relocation assistance for eligible roles.
  • Annual discretionary bonus for eligible roles.
