Job description

Role overview

Amazon’s design organization spans many customer-facing and product experiences, from devices and retail to search, streaming, voice, logistics, and more. The team brings together UX, UI, visual, motion, illustration, brand, marketing, design technology, research, and writing expertise to shape the future of Amazon experiences.

This internship runs for 3 months and starts in summer 2026. Applicants should include a portfolio link in their CV.

What you will do

  • Work closely with the team to create and refine user experience designs.
  • Produce polished interface concepts that show strong visual execution.
  • Build prototypes that express interaction patterns and small motion details clearly.
  • Create product visualizations that help explain design ideas.
  • Develop user-centered solutions using market insight, customer feedback, and usability findings.
  • Turn business needs into visual directions, interaction flows, and prototypes.
  • Prepare clear narratives that help different stakeholders understand design choices.

Design competencies

  • Strong visual design fundamentals, including typography, color, composition, layout, and accessibility.
  • Prototyping skills across different fidelity levels, including flows and micro-interactions.
  • Ability to communicate design thinking and decisions effectively to varied audiences.
  • Systems thinking for work inside complex digital product ecosystems.

Day-to-day experience

You will be paired with a mentor and will learn through a meaningful project while also connecting with Amazonians for personal and professional growth. You will have opportunities to expand your network and take part in activities with other interns throughout the program. Across locations, the internship is designed to give you ownership of real work in a practical setting.

Team context

You will join the London Studio Design Team within Devices & Services, a futures-focused group working where technology, customer needs, and strategy meet. The team develops validated concepts that influence leadership direction for Amazon’s consumer hardware and services portfolio, including Alexa, Echo, Fire TV, Fire tablets, and Kindle. In this role, you will partner with designers and cross-functional teammates to shape engaging visual experiences and intuitive interactions, contributing from early concept stages through high-fidelity design.

Basic qualifications

  • Experience using a range of design, wireframing, and prototyping tools.
  • Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in interaction design, visual design, motion design, industrial design, or a related discipline.
