Utility Person 2nd Shift

Overview

Martin Marietta is hiring a Utility Person for its Ball Ground, Georgia location. The right candidate will be dependable, safety-minded, and driven to help with a mix of maintenance, production, and equipment-related tasks across the plant.

This role supports day-to-day plant operations by handling lubrication, housekeeping, equipment checks, basic maintenance, and operating mobile equipment when needed. The schedule runs from 3:00 pm to 12:00 am, with weekends required as needed.

What you will do

• Carry out scheduled and routine upkeep on plant and mobile equipment, including basic cutting and welding work when directed by the plant manager or another authorized leader.
• Complete daily inspections before and after shifts and keep maintenance records up to date.
• Use hand tools, shovels, skid steers, front-end loaders, and similar equipment to clean around plant machinery and keep roads and parking areas in good shape.
• Drive a water truck to help control dust in the work area.
• Support plant activities such as production, loading, shipping, and quality checks.
• Maintain clean, orderly work areas and help ensure traffic moves safely throughout the site.
• Operate site-specific mobile equipment, including excavators and haul trucks, in a safe and careful manner when required.
• Help train fellow team members when needed.
• Take on additional tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

The company is looking for someone who has a high school diploma, a GED, or equivalent experience that supports the duties of the role. Prior experience in the building materials industry is considered an advantage.
