Job description
Role Overview
Fair Waves Marine Services LLC is looking for a seasoned and committed UTG Team Leader to strengthen its marine inspection division in Dubai. In this role, you will lead ultrasonic thickness gauging activities, support repair planning, and work closely with classification societies and external inspectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out ultrasonic thickness gauging checks on vessels and other marine assets.
- Compile UTG documentation, steel calculation sheets, and practical repair plans.
- Coordinate inspection work with classification bodies including ABS, DNV, LR, BV, IRS, RINA, KR, NKK, and similar organizations.
- Lead and support UTG technicians during field inspections.
- Perform thermographic checks on electrical panels and motors.
- Follow all safety requirements and internal operating procedures.
- Assist with rope access activities whenever the job demands it.
Requirements
- At least 8 to 10 years of hands-on experience in UTG and marine inspection work.
- ASNT Level II certification in Ultrasonic Testing is preferred.
- Prior exposure to projects involving classification societies.
- Working understanding of repair planning and steel renewal calculations.
- IRATA Rope Access certification at Level I or II is an advantage.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, MS Word, and MS Excel at a basic level.
- Strong English communication skills.
