Role Overview

We are looking for a seasoned Urban Planner to contribute to urban development strategies, land-use planning, and sustainable city initiatives. Key Responsibilities

  • Research urban conditions and assess land use, population growth, infrastructure, and environmental influences.
  • Draft planning reports, technical documentation, presentations, and development recommendations.
  • Assist with zoning reviews, urban design studies, and community development initiatives.
  • Assess how proposed projects may affect urban systems and local communities.
  • Work with spatial data and planning datasets to support informed decisions.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, developers, government bodies, and consultants.
  • Examine planning regulations, policy requirements, and development guidelines.
  • Support sustainability efforts, smart city programs, and urban regeneration work.
  • Track changes in urban trends and suggest improvements to planning approaches.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in Urban Planning, City Planning, Architecture, Geography, Civil Engineering, Environmental Planning, or a similar discipline.
  • Between 3 and 7+ years of experience in urban planning, spatial planning, land-use planning, or closely related roles.
  • Solid knowledge of urban development concepts, zoning rules, and planning procedures.
  • Proven ability to prepare planning reports, development assessments, and strategic recommendations.
  • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage stakeholders effectively.
  • Comfort working independently while also collaborating well in a remote setup.
  • Well-developed organizational skills and strong attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in GCC, Middle East, or international urban development projects is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar tools is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of sustainable urban development, smart cities, and climate-resilient planning is desirable.
  • Exposure to government agencies, municipalities, or planning authorities is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with transportation planning, infrastructure planning, and environmental assessment is valuable.
  • Professional membership or certification in urban planning will be considered an asset.
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary and international teams is preferred.

What We Offer

  • A competitive compensation and benefits package.
  • The chance to contribute to meaningful urban development initiatives.
  • Opportunities for professional growth and career progression.
  • Exposure to planning work across regional and international settings.
  • A flexible, collaborative, and supportive work environment.
  • The opportunity to help deliver innovative urban transformation projects.
