Job description

Role overview

This part-time UI/UX Designer role is based on-site in Australia and focuses on shaping digital experiences that are easy to use, visually refined, and centered on the needs of the audience. The work spans web, mobile, and other digital platforms, with an emphasis on improving usability, accessibility, and overall satisfaction.

What you will do

You will work closely with product managers, developers, researchers, and business stakeholders to understand user expectations and convert them into practical design solutions. The role involves taking part in the full product journey, from early discovery and ideation through testing, implementation, and ongoing refinement.

Your work will include researching users, studying behavioral patterns, defining personas and journey maps, and turning findings into wireframes, prototypes, and polished user interfaces. You will also help ensure design consistency by using design systems, style guides, and reusable components, while balancing user needs, business goals, and technical limits.

Skills and qualifications

The position calls for a strong foundation in UI/UX principles, human-centered design, and usability best practices. You should be comfortable using common design and prototyping tools, carrying out user research and usability testing, and creating responsive, accessible experiences across platforms.

Applicants should also bring solid visual design ability, including typography, color, layout, and information hierarchy, along with strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, attention to detail, and the ability to explain design choices clearly to stakeholders. Experience working in collaborative, iterative environments is also valuable.

Additional requirements

A portfolio is expected to show complete design projects, UX reasoning, and visual design capability. Knowledge of frontend development concepts and design handoff processes is considered an advantage. Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or similar iterative methods is also useful.
