About the Role
All-Fab Group is seeking a skilled Intermediate to Senior Truss Designer to join our team in Acheson, Alberta, or remotely. This position focuses on creating, optimizing, and detailing roof and floor truss systems for a variety of projects, including residential, multi-family, and light commercial applications. The successful candidate will possess a solid grasp of structural engineering principles, proficiency in design software, and a thorough understanding of building regulations. Effective collaboration with internal departments and external stakeholders is essential.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop roof and floor truss system designs utilizing industry-standard software such as MiTek.
- Accurately interpret architectural blueprints, engineered plans, and project specifications.
- Ensure all truss designs comply with relevant building codes, load specifications, and safety standards.
- Optimize designs to enhance cost-effectiveness, ease of manufacturing, and structural soundness.
- Liaise with sales, production, and installation teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Provide technical guidance and support to clients, framing crews, and builders.
- Incorporate feedback from engineers and clients through design revisions.
- Maintain meticulous records and documentation for all design projects.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 years of experience for an Intermediate role, or 7+ years for a Senior role, specifically in truss design.
- Demonstrated expertise in truss design software, with MiTek being a primary example.
- A comprehensive understanding of structural loads, wood properties, and building codes.
- The ability to proficiently read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, coupled with a collaborative spirit.
Preferred Qualifications
- Possession of a diploma or degree in Engineering Technology, Construction, or a related field.
- Familiarity with Alberta's specific building codes and construction practices.
- Prior experience designing trusses for multi-family or commercial construction projects.
