Overview

Trination Transport Inc. is hiring a truck driver for its Dartmouth, Nova Scotia location. This is a full-time, on-site role focused on transporting goods safely and efficiently.

Language Requirements

English is required.

Education

A secondary school graduation certificate is required.

Experience

No prior experience is necessary, as the employer is prepared to train the right candidate.

What You’ll Do

  • Adjust and plan driving routes using GPS, onboard computer systems, or other navigation tools to reduce fuel use and emissions.
  • Handle mountain driving assignments when needed.
  • Provide courteous and professional customer service.
  • Organize travel plans, related itineraries, and reservations.
  • Operate as part of a two-driver team or convoy.
  • Load and unload cargo.
  • Drive straight or articulated trucks to move goods and materials.
  • Check the truck and its components, including tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.
  • Carry out brake adjustments.
  • Complete emergency roadside repairs when required.
  • Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, while monitoring all major vehicle conditions.
  • Communicate updates and instructions to central dispatch.
  • Track cargo details, hours of service, distance driven, and fuel usage.
  • Transport and manage dangerous goods.

Credentials

  • AZ class driver’s licence.
  • Air brakes endorsement.

Documentation and Specialization

  • Knowledge of bills of lading.
  • Familiarity with driver logbooks.
  • Ability to complete inspection reports for pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip checks.
  • Experience with tractor-trailer equipment.
  • Travel experience across international, local, long-haul, national, provincial/territorial, regional, and short-haul routes.
