Role overview

An opportunity is available for a Transport Planner to join the team at the Kilcock Depot in Kildare. This position focuses on planning and coordinating transport activity across the supply chain, with an emphasis on efficiency, accuracy, and smooth day-to-day operations.

What you will do

  • Create and refine transport schedules so deliveries are both timely and cost-efficient.
  • Work closely with suppliers, warehouse teams, and retail locations to keep transport operations running smoothly.
  • Track consignments and shipment movement to ensure delivery commitments are met.
  • Review transport information to spot inefficiencies and support process improvements.
  • Keep transport records accurate and prepare routine reports.
  • Engage with transport providers to agree rates and service terms.
  • Make sure all transport activity follows legal requirements and internal policies.
  • Handle transport disruptions, delays, and operational issues in a prompt way.
  • Partner with logistics colleagues to predict transport demand and plan ahead.
  • Use transport management systems to improve overall operational performance.

What the role calls for

The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in transport planning or logistics within a retail supply chain setting, along with strong analytical ability, a detail-focused approach, and confidence working in a busy environment.
