Role Summary
This full-time remote Transport Planner position focuses on designing, reviewing, and improving transport systems and networks for client assignments. The role involves analysing transport demand and capacity, preparing feasibility studies, and contributing to transport modelling work that helps assess options and scenarios. You will also develop and refine transport plans, draft technical documentation, and create clear visuals and presentations for internal and external audiences. In addition, the role requires close coordination with project managers, engineers, and operations teams to keep transport strategies aligned with project goals, schedules, and budgets.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess transport demand and network capacity to support planning decisions.
- Prepare feasibility studies and contribute to scenario analysis for transport initiatives.
- Assist with transport modelling work and use analytical tools to evaluate options.
- Build, update, and improve transport plans based on project requirements and findings.
- Draft technical reports, visual materials, and presentations for varied stakeholders.
- Work with project managers, engineers, and operations teams to coordinate delivery.
- Support stakeholder engagement activities and communicate findings clearly.
- Contribute to risk reviews and impact assessments linked to transport proposals.
- Help ensure all recommendations follow applicable regulations, standards, and good practice.
Qualifications and Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree or a higher qualification in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, Logistics, or a similar field.
- Practical knowledge of transportation planning and transport management for multimodal solutions.
- Background in operations management to help organise workflows and priorities effectively.
- Hands-on experience with transport modelling and related analytical methods or software.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting, presentations, and collaboration.
- Good numerical ability, analytical thinking, and careful attention to data accuracy and documentation.
- Capability to work independently in a remote setting while managing several tasks and deadlines.
- Exposure to GIS, traffic analysis tools, or transport planning software is an advantage.
- Understanding of transport and infrastructure regulations, standards, and sustainability principles is beneficial.

This is a remote role based in Tzaneen, Limpopo, South Africa. The position is offered on a full-time basis.
