Job description

Role Overview

Transdev Ontario Manitoba is hiring a full-time Transit Dispatcher in London, Ontario. The position focuses on coordinating transit operations, supporting drivers in real time, and helping keep service running smoothly and on schedule.

Key Duties

  • Plan new ride bookings and manage updates with drivers when schedules change.
  • Use radio communication to stay in contact with all drivers on route.
  • Monitor service timing so drivers remain on schedule and customer experience stays strong.
  • Compile and retrieve a range of reports as requested by management.
  • Handle phone calls and email communication in a polite, professional way.
  • Take charge of the Emergency Response Plan if a serious collision occurs.
  • Support vehicle maintenance scheduling and related coordination when needed.

Candidate Profile

The ideal applicant brings dispatch experience from transportation or a service-based environment, along with strong organization, communication, and problem-solving ability. Comfort working with radios, computer systems, and Microsoft Office applications is important. The role also calls for sound local geography knowledge, customer service experience, and the ability to stay calm, organized, and responsive while juggling multiple tasks.

Work Schedule and Site

This is a fully in-office position with no remote work option. The work location is 573 Admiral Court, London, Ontario. The role follows rotating afternoon shifts from 2:00 PM to 1:00 AM. Week 1 includes Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. Week 2 includes Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.

Compensation

The hourly pay rate for this role is $19.50.
