About the Role
Downer delivers integrated services across Australia and New Zealand, helping clients plan, build, and maintain assets, infrastructure, and facilities through strong partnerships and practical expertise. In this full-time, site-based role in Maddington, Western Australia, you will take ownership of traffic management planning for Transport & Infrastructure projects. The position focuses on creating traffic control solutions that comply with relevant regulations while keeping road users, workers, and the wider public safe.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and roll out traffic management plans for construction sites, events, and roadworks.
- Review traffic conditions through surveys and data analysis to identify congestion patterns, traffic behaviour, and safety concerns.
- Ensure all planning and implementation aligns with applicable local and national road traffic requirements and safety rules.
- Work out the correct positioning of signs, signals, and road markings.
- Use traffic management tools and systems where required, while keeping records accurate and up to date.
- Partner with internal teams, clients, subcontractors, and government bodies to coordinate traffic arrangements.
- Share traffic changes with the public using signage and online information channels.
- Support ongoing improvements in traffic management methods and outcomes.
About You
- You bring proven experience in traffic management advisory work.
- You hold an Advanced Worksite Traffic Management Ticket, which is essential for this role.
- You can design and produce Traffic Management Plans confidently.
- Experience with AutoCAD is preferred.
- You hold a Construction Induction Certificate (White Card).
- You have a strong working knowledge of traffic regulations and safety standards.
- You communicate clearly and work well with stakeholders at different levels.
- You actively support a Zero Harm culture and place safety at the centre of your work.
