Job description
About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on Traffic Management Operative to work outdoors as part of a team at Heathrow. The role involves visiting sites, setting up traffic management arrangements, and resolving day-to-day traffic-related issues while delivering a high standard of service.
What You’ll Do
- Deliver and install traffic management equipment at customer locations while following company standards and legal requirements.
- Show customers how to use the equipment correctly so it can be operated safely.
- Inspect all returned traffic management equipment and complete the required paperwork or digital records.
- Carry out basic maintenance and repairs on traffic equipment.
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Follow instructions and procedures carefully, and complete records accurately, mainly on an electronic device.
- Communicate in a positive and approachable way with customers and members of the public.
What’s on Offer
- Starting pay from £34,632 per year.
- Enhanced pay for weekends and bank holidays.
- Overtime paid at up to 1.5 times the standard rate.
- 45 hours per week, with overtime available.
- A permanent position.
- Full training and PPE provided.
- Clear career progression path.
- An excellent pension scheme.
- Generous holiday entitlement, with the option to buy or sell 5 days.
About You
Previous experience in traffic management is not required, as full training will be given. This role suits someone who is reliable, self-driven, committed to health and safety, and comfortable with flexible working hours. A willingness to learn and build new skills is important.
Checks and Working Requirements
The role requires a full clean DBS check and a 5-year reference history. You must also be able to comply with the Working Time Directive and domestic driving hours. Although the position is based at Heathrow, you may live anywhere across the region because the depots cover a wide area.
