About the role
Metcash is hiring a full-time Trade Yard Team Member / Truck Driver for its Hudson Mitre 10 Trade Centre at the new Mitchell site. This Monday to Friday position is suited to someone who enjoys hands-on work, delivers great service, and can contribute in a busy trade yard environment.
The role suits a motivated person with a forklift licence and, ideally, experience in a similar warehouse, trade yard, or delivery-focused position.
Key duties
- Help maintain a safe workplace for coworkers, customers, and contractors across the department.
- Assist customers by processing orders and delivering prompt, efficient service.
- Pick stock for outgoing delivery truck orders.
- Store inventory, with a focus on timber and related products.
- Drive, load, and unload trucks when needed.
What you will need
- A strong focus on customer service.
- Comfort working in a fast-moving team setting.
- Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to organise tasks and meet deadlines.
- Physical capability to work on your feet throughout the day.
- Attention to detail and a strong sense of urgency.
- Availability across all five weekdays.
- A forklift licence is highly desirable.
