Role Overview
This full-time on-site role is for a tour guide at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing in Washington, DC. The position focuses on leading public tours, explaining the currency-making process, and ensuring visitors have a safe, informative, and well-organized experience.
Key Duties
- Lead 45-minute guided tours from the elevated gallery overlooking the currency production floor.
- Present the background of U.S. currency, the production process, and the anti-counterfeiting safeguards used in the bills.
- Support visitors who need accessibility accommodations and hand out tour wands or other required materials.
- Keep visitor movement under control and follow all safety and crowd-management rules.
- Answer visitor inquiries and assist at the information desk and ticket counter when needed.
- Keep the area tidy, track supply levels, and escalate any problems to SLT/LTG.
- Deliver tours to both general visitors and specialized audiences.
- Ensure tour supplies and equipment are ready for use at all times.
- Act as backup for PM or TS duties when required.
- Apply tour rules, crowd-control measures, and safety procedures consistently.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. citizen or a lawful permanent resident with at least 3 years of U.S. residency.
- Must hold a high school diploma or an equivalent qualification.
- Should have strong public speaking ability and customer service skills.
- CPR certification is required and must remain current for the full contract period.
- Must be able to pass BEP security clearance.
