Job description
Role overview
This full-time London-based position is for a TikTok Editor working within entertainment-focused social content. Reporting to the Account Director, the role is centred on creating short-form, platform-native assets that help major entertainment brands and franchises stand out in crowded feeds.
The right person will be immersed in online fandoms, understand how communities engage with film and media IP, and know how to shape content that feels native to TikTok and other major social platforms. The job covers the full creative process, from concept development and filming on mobile to editing and final delivery.
About the company
Substance Global is a social and digital marketing agency working across Film, Media, Pharma, Gaming, and renewable energy. Established in 2003, the business has expanded to more than 75 employees across London, Los Angeles, Dallas, Singapore, and Buenos Aires. Its work is built on insights, innovation, creativity, and collaboration, with tailored strategies created for each client brand.
The company emphasises flexibility, support, and inclusion, aiming to reduce barriers and create a better balance for people with different needs and life circumstances. It also describes itself as an independent, purpose-led team that values culture as much as output.
Key responsibilities
- Develop imaginative social ideas, from quick-turnaround reactive posts to larger campaign concepts, that increase visibility and engagement for entertainment franchises.
- Create compelling short-form and multimedia content using Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, mobile editing tools, and native in-app editors.
- Move quickly on cultural moments and fandom activity, producing high-volume content under tight turnaround times.
- Track trends, platform changes, algorithm shifts, and new content formats across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook.
- Ensure all creative output remains aligned with brand guidelines while still feeling authentic to the platform and its audience.
- Help nurture online communities by monitoring franchise conversations and using audience sentiment to improve future creative work.
Experience and qualifications
- Background as a social producer, fan editor, or content creator in a social-first agency or entertainment environment.
- Strong experience in editing for social, publishing content, and supporting production workflows, including feedback handling, asset delivery, and commercial delivery requirements.
- Advanced ability with Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and After Effects, plus native platform editing tools.
- Well-organised approach to project files and internal processes, with the ability to hand work over smoothly to other team members.
- Comfortable using IT systems, project trackers, and collaborative tools.
- Strong sense of pacing, tone, and humour, with the ability to build emotional hooks and balance raw social style with polished post-production.
- Deep cultural awareness of social media, with a strategic and inventive approach to ideation and engagement.
- Genuine enthusiasm for cinema, pop culture, and long-running entertainment franchises.
- Excellent written, verbal, and teamwork communication skills.
Application requirement
To be considered, candidates must provide a portfolio showing strong examples of short-form video, fan edits, or meme-style content.
Equality and inclusion
The employer states that people who do not match every requirement should still feel encouraged to apply. It highlights that women and people of colour may be less likely to apply unless they meet all criteria, and invites candidates to avoid self-doubt if they bring different strengths or perspectives.
The organisation says it is committed to a fair, inclusive, and diverse working environment, and values a range of backgrounds, experiences, abilities, and viewpoints as part of its equal opportunities approach.
