Role overview
LOCALiQ, part of Newsquest Media Group, is hiring a telesales consultant to support local businesses by selling trusted media solutions through brands such as the Echo. This is a high-energy telephone sales position focused on understanding each customer’s objectives and matching them with suitable advertising options across digital and print channels.
The position is based fully in the Basildon office and follows standard Monday-to-Friday office hours. Applicants with prior sales experience are welcome, but the company also supports people looking to start and grow a career in sales through training and ongoing guidance.
Key responsibilities
- Proactively reach out to potential customers and create new business opportunities through outbound calls and sales activity.
- Develop and maintain a healthy sales pipeline of prospects.
- Work toward and surpass revenue goals and performance KPIs.
- Manage current client accounts and identify opportunities to upsell additional services.
- Use a consultative approach to recommend solutions based on each client’s needs.
- Build lasting relationships with businesses in the local area.
- Coordinate with internal colleagues to help campaigns run smoothly.
- Keep informed about industry developments and the company’s products and services.
- Represent the LOCALiQ and Echo brands in a professional, trustworthy manner.
Skills and experience
- Clear and confident communication with strong persuasive ability.
- Comfort with outbound phone-based selling and relationship building.
- Ability to secure new business and close deals.
- Self-motivated, resilient, and target-focused approach.
- Good customer service and account handling skills.
- Consultative selling style with the ability to uncover client requirements.
- Previous B2B sales background is helpful, though not essential.
- Interest in digital and print advertising is an advantage.
- Ability to travel to and work from the Basildon office.
