Role Overview

The Team Lead, Events will manage a team of event professionals, oversee full event delivery, and maintain strong relationships with important clients. This is a practical leadership role that blends people management, client service, operational delivery, and strategic input. The person in this role will act as a trusted client advisor, a mentor to the team, and a contributor to the company’s growth plans.

Key Duties

  • Support priority clients, the General Manager, and the wider Events function with a high standard of service.
  • Build productive working relationships across the organisation and share current market knowledge and event best practices.
  • Help drive revenue across the Events portfolio while keeping client returns strong.
  • Lead, guide, and motivate the event planning team to deliver excellent client outcomes and event execution.
  • Set expectations, give timely feedback, and encourage continuous learning and development.
  • Balance team capacity and workload, working with other leaders to reallocate resources when needed.
  • Hire, onboard, and help new team members settle into a positive, high-performance environment.
  • Act as the main contact for a set of key clients and ensure a consistent, premium service experience.
  • Create customised event solutions that support client objectives and strengthen the brand.
  • Manage complex event projects from initial concept through delivery, including budget control, schedules, logistics, and supplier coordination.
  • Support on-site event delivery when required and represent the company professionally in front of clients and stakeholders.
  • Improve revenue performance and operational efficiency across the events business.
  • Work with senior leaders to define goals and align event delivery with broader business priorities.
  • Track market developments and client feedback to identify service improvements and expansion opportunities.
  • Help refine systems, processes, and best practices so they can scale with business growth.
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives and take on additional projects as assigned.

Experience and Skills

  • At least 3 years of experience in event sourcing and event planning.
  • At least 2 years of leadership experience in managing, mentoring, or developing teams.
  • At least 2 years of experience working with Cvent or a similar event management platform.
  • Clear and confident communication style with the ability to present ideas persuasively.
  • Strong project coordination skills and the ability to handle several complex timelines at once.
  • Commercial awareness, including comfort with budgeting, pricing, and return-on-investment analysis.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new systems and technologies.
  • Dependable time management and the flexibility to respond to changing priorities.
  • Genuine enthusiasm for events, travel, and international experiences.
  • Strong problem-solving ability with a calm, professional, and empathetic approach.
  • Comfort working in a fast-moving, growth-oriented environment.
  • Willingness to travel and work outside standard business hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
  • Willingness to provide on-site event support as needed.

Pay and Compensation

The stated compensation range for this role is USD 70,000 to USD 80,000 per year. Final starting pay may vary depending on work location, relevant skills, experience, market conditions, and internal pay alignment. For roles with incentive pay, compensation may include both base salary and target bonus or on-target earnings. Candidates may receive additional detail during the recruitment process.
