About Woodgrain

Woodgrain is a global leader in millwork operations with a rich history spanning 70 years. As a top producer of mouldings, doors, and windows, and a premier distributor of specialty building products, Woodgrain operates numerous manufacturing and warehouse facilities across the United States and Chile. Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide an error report to the supervisor at the conclusion of each shift.
  • Conduct a thorough walkthrough at the beginning of every shift to verify that product is correctly turned on.
  • Print the visual of the cut bill to identify all items that are ready for planning.
  • Assess open slots/gates, activating the necessary cut stock for each gate and ensuring all sizes are accounted for according to the cutting bill visual. Escalate any stock shortages to the supervisor.
  • Tag and label units with inventory tags, assist in banding units, and prepare them for Material Handler pickup within 10-15 minutes.
  • Coordinate the return of units within the 7NC system.
  • Tag and label boxes from the core sort, back rip, and Opti 2 line, ensuring correct information is displayed on front-facing tags and placards.
  • Monitor orders nearing completion, count remaining pieces, verify units, and update the visual. Communicate with the upstairs team to confirm size availability.
  • Document all completed tasks in chronological order, including voided tags, on the Tally Sheet.
  • Direct employees during downtime for cleanup tasks, feeding the chipper, cutting stickers, and repurposing reclaim material in designated areas such as the East wall Opti, Ripsaw in-feed, under the Ripsaw (when locked out), North walkway, and box sorts.
  • Ensure the core sort remains consistently fed and caught up.
  • Maintain floor organization to prevent operational shutdowns.
  • Wrap all Nampa items and outside orders, ensuring no units requiring wrapping are left for the next shift.
  • Prioritize housekeeping, leaving work areas clean for the subsequent shift.
  • Uphold quality standards for customer needs, including length, defects, width, stacking quality, and accurate piece counts.
  • Train team members on work-related tasks.
  • Support shift supervisor's directives and assist with stacking as needed.
  • Help manage break times and provide coverage during breaks.
  • Enforce safety procedures and protocols diligently.
  • Assist and communicate with the supervisor regarding injury reports.
  • Aid employees with safety cards.
  • Ensure staffing levels are optimized for production flow.
  • Verify adequate supply levels.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the capacity to quickly learn new software applications.
  • Previous experience with SAP is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Prior experience working in a manufacturing setting is required.
