Job description
Role overview
Bernstein is looking for an energetic, service-minded Talent and HR Associate to support a client-facing HR function in New York. In this position, you will work closely with the Head of Talent Acquisition and the HR Business Partner, contributing across HR operations, recruitment, and broader talent programs while partnering directly with the business.
Key responsibilities
- Build strong relationships across the organization and serve as a central contact for a broad mix of HR and talent-related questions.
- Manage the full onboarding journey, including offer coordination, background checks, and communication with technology, compliance, and other stakeholders, while guiding managers and new hires on next steps.
- Partner closely with Centers of Excellence on HR processes and related activities.
- Support offshore administration teams with HR transactions and review their work when needed.
- Handle employee offboarding, including termination processing, coordination with stakeholders, and support for exit interviews when required.
- Maintain accurate employee records in PeopleSoft and oversee all employee changes in the system.
- Support talent initiatives such as promotions, annual compensation review, and other talent management programs.
- Run end-to-end recruiting for support roles such as legal, compliance, technology, and operations, covering roughly 10 requisitions per year.
- Assist with immigration-related work, including job description preparation and Green Card-related coordination, such as posting roles and reviewing resumes.
- Lead or coordinate talent projects connected to culture initiatives and internal communications.
- Prepare ad hoc HR reports and data outputs, and coordinate data requests from other teams in the business.
Qualifications and experience
- Prior exposure to HR operations or hands-on HR process support.
- Working knowledge of HR platforms such as applicant tracking systems, HRIS tools, and onboarding systems.
- Recruiting experience that includes sourcing, interviewing, and partnership with hiring managers.
- High attention to detail and a strong ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
- Preferred: at least 3 years of experience in HR or talent roles.
- Preferred: project management experience.
- Preferred: data visualization capability.
