Role overview
This position is for a Talent Acquisition Specialist focused on Engineering R&D hiring. Based at the IBC Knowledge Park corporate office in Bengaluru, the role reports to the Talent Acquisition Lead and sits within the People Operations & Strategy team.
About the team
The People Operations & Strategy team supports Ather’s growth by building a strong talent pipeline, improving recruitment processes, maintaining accurate HRMS records, and aligning workforce capabilities with the company’s long-term strategy.
What the role involves
You will own hiring activities for engineering stakeholders end to end, work closely with hiring managers, and help shape specialized recruitment efforts for the engineering function.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the full hiring cycle, including sourcing, screening, evaluating, and progressing candidates through onboarding and vacancy closure.
- Build, refine, and maintain job descriptions, while publishing roles across multiple hiring channels and using market insights to set realistic hiring expectations with managers.
- Coordinate selection steps with business leaders, handle offer discussions, and obtain the required internal sign-offs before releasing offers.
- Map and review internal talent pools to encourage internal movement and career development opportunities within the organization.
- Suggest ongoing improvements to recruitment workflows, policies, and talent acquisition practices.
- Keep HRMS records accurate and up to date through regular compliance and data-quality checks.
Experience and qualification requirements
A bachelor’s or master’s degree in management, or an equivalent qualification, is required. The ideal candidate should bring 4 to 8 years of recruitment experience, preferably with engineering hiring exposure.
Must-have capabilities
- Strong command over full-cycle recruitment across different organizational levels within engineering R&D.
- Hands-on experience hiring for technical roles, especially mid- to senior-level positions.
- Ability to use targeted sourcing methods, social channels, and large databases effectively.
- Comfort with using AI-driven approaches to improve hiring speed and quality.
- Excellent stakeholder handling skills with a focus on candidate and hiring-manager experience.
- Capability to run structured interviews and negotiate offers strategically.
Preferred capabilities
- Talent mapping and market intelligence experience across automotive, aerospace, robotics, and core engineering spaces in India.
- Ability to use hiring metrics such as funnel conversion, time-to-hire, offer acceptance, and source performance to guide decisions.
- Exposure to engineering domains such as automotive, EV, embedded systems, or broader R&D environments.
