Job description

Role overview

LUMINA is looking for a Talent Acquisition Partner who can independently manage recruitment from start to finish and help define how the company attracts talent as it grows. You will work alongside hiring managers to run active searches across both technical and business-facing teams, covering areas such as autonomy, AI, software and controls engineering, mechanical engineering, testing and development, finance, and operations.

This position requires someone who can balance hands-on hiring with improving the underlying recruitment process. You will source hard-to-find candidates, advise leaders on hiring decisions, and introduce structure, data, and consistency into a fast-scaling talent function. The role is important to building the team behind LUMINA’s machines by hiring exceptional people quickly, maintaining a high bar, and ensuring every candidate has a strong experience.

Key responsibilities

  • Handle the full recruitment journey, including intake and kick-off discussions, role definition, sourcing, screening, interview scheduling, offer management, and handover for onboarding.
  • Work closely with founders and hiring managers to refine role requirements, question the brief when needed, and deliver hiring outcomes within short timelines.
  • Find passive, specialist talent through direct outreach, networking, referrals, and professional platforms, especially in niche areas such as autonomy, robotics, and electrification.
  • Create clear and inclusive job adverts and coordinate targeted promotion through the most effective channels.
  • Develop and nurture talent pipelines and candidate pools for current and future hiring needs.
  • Ensure a strong candidate journey by providing timely, transparent communication and feedback throughout the process.
  • Manage several live vacancies at once across different functions, levels, and regions while staying organised and prioritising effectively.
  • Selectively brief and coordinate agencies and search partners while holding them to a consistent standard of quality.
  • Keep recruitment records accurate and use them to generate insights such as time-to-hire, conversion rates, source performance, and offer acceptance rates.
  • Use AI-enabled tools to improve sourcing, screening, job description creation, and outreach, while preserving a human and quality-first approach.
  • Contribute to process improvement, hiring governance, and employer brand activity as the talent function develops.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience running end-to-end recruitment across a variety of roles and seniority levels.
  • Strong ability to source proactively and engage passive candidates rather than relying only on applicants.
  • Practical experience using AI tools such as Claude or similar products to support sourcing, screening, writing job descriptions, and outreach.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to work effectively with technical leaders and founders.
  • Comfort working in a fast-moving environment with changing priorities and the independence expected in a startup.
  • Highly organised and detail-focused, with confidence using recruitment data and ATS or tracking systems.
  • At least 3 years of experience in talent acquisition, ideally after moving from agency work into an in-house or RPO setting.
  • Experience recruiting in engineering, hardware, robotics, autonomy, AI, or similar deep-tech and high-growth environments.
  • International hiring exposure across the USA, Europe, or India is beneficial, since the company recruits across multiple regions.
