Role Summary

This is a full-time, on-site role in the Doha Metropolitan Area for a Sustainability Specialist. The position centers on supporting green building certification work by managing documentation, monitoring project progress, and helping ensure alignment with certification requirements for systems such as LEED, Mostadam, GSAS, and WELL. The specialist works closely with design and construction teams to embed sustainability strategies into building projects, carries out technical assessments, and prepares reports covering energy, water, materials, and indoor environmental quality. The role also includes reviewing drawings, taking part in sustainable design workshops, coordinating with certification authorities to move submissions forward, supporting client presentations, and contributing to the improvement of QGL’s internal tools and delivery methods.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate certification-related documentation and keep project records organized and up to date.
  • Monitor project performance against green building and sustainability requirements.
  • Support compliance with LEED, Mostadam, GSAS, WELL, and related certification pathways.
  • Work with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to integrate sustainable strategies.
  • Review architectural, mechanical, and electrical drawings with a sustainability lens.
  • Prepare technical analyses and reports covering energy, water, materials, and indoor environmental quality.
  • Participate in sustainable design workshops and contribute ideas for improving project outcomes.
  • Communicate with certification bodies to support prompt submission review and approvals.
  • Stay informed about changes in sustainability standards, rating systems, and industry best practices.
  • Assist with client-facing presentations and help refine internal sustainability tools and methodologies.

Requirements

  • Solid understanding of green building rating systems and sustainable design concepts, including LEED, GSAS, Mostadam, and WELL.
  • Practical experience in building performance assessment across energy, water, materials, and indoor environmental quality.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural, mechanical, and electrical drawings.
  • Strong research, analytical, and report-writing capabilities with careful attention to compliance details.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills for interacting with clients, consultants, and construction teams.
  • Competence with common office tools such as MS Office, spreadsheets, and presentation software; experience with sustainability or simulation software is an advantage.
  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, environmental science, sustainability, or a related field.
  • Professional credentials such as LEED GA/AP or GSAS certification are considered a strong plus.
  • Must be able to work on-site in the Doha Metropolitan Area.
  • Ability to juggle several projects at once and perform well in a deadline-driven environment.
