About the Role
The Person Centred Wing services in Kildare and Laois are seeking permanent Support Workers for a range of contract hour options. The role involves delivering tailored, person-centred assistance to individuals so they can work toward personal goals and take part in activities they enjoy, including swimming, bowling, train outings, and spending time with animals.
This position will suit someone with experience supporting adults with autism, intellectual disability, and behaviours of concern. The team is looking for people who are energetic, confident, able to use their own initiative, and comfortable working in a person-focused environment.
Working Arrangements
- Hours are flexible to meet the needs of the person being supported.
- Shifts may include days, evenings, weekends, and sleepovers.
- Full training will be provided.
Essential Requirements
- Practical experience or strong knowledge of supporting people who present behaviours that challenge.
- Ability to remain composed and respond appropriately in stressful situations.
- Full manual driving licence.
- Self-motivated, positive, and proactive approach.
- Creative thinking and initiative.
Desirable Criteria
- FETAC/QQI Level 5 Major Award in Healthcare, or an equivalent qualification such as Health Service Skills or Healthcare Support.
- Awareness of Social Role Valorisation and Supported Self Directed Living.
- Personal interest in swimming, nature, and animals.
