Job description
Role overview
Cubit Capital is hiring for an on-site Supply Chain Planner II role in Austin, TX. The position supports autonomous surface vessel programs and focuses on keeping materials, components, and information moving efficiently across the supply chain. The planner will help forecast demand, control inventory, and support production, new product introduction, and other non-steady-state build activities.
This role partners with engineering, procurement, program management, manufacturing, quality, and suppliers to make sure materials are available when needed while balancing cost, schedule, and risk. The role also supports compliance, traceability, and audit readiness for Department of Defense-related requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Build and continuously refine tactical supply plans that support NPI builds, production builds, and off-nominal builds.
- Convert engineering demand, build schedules, and program milestones into material requirements in ERP/MRP systems so planning data stays accurate and actionable.
- Tune planning settings such as lead times, lot sizes, safety stock, planning fences, and reorder rules to improve flow and reduce shortages.
- Manage BOM maturity and engineering change impacts, including cut-ins and cut-outs, while limiting excess and obsolete inventory exposure.
- Spot material risks tied to unstable designs, supplier constraints, long lead-time parts, and quality issues, then build recovery plans and maintain risk tracking.
- Keep master data accurate across BOMs, routings, planning attributes, and supplier parameters to support reliable MRP results.
- Work across engineering, manufacturing, quality, and procurement to align material execution with build plans, capacity limits, and program priorities.
- Track material readiness measures such as shortages, kit completeness, on-time-to-build, supplier on-time delivery, and inventory health, and escalate issues as needed.
- Drive shortage resolution efforts, including root cause analysis, corrective actions, and supplier coordination to protect build schedules.
- Improve supply planning workflows, processes, and system usage to increase repeatability, scalability, and factory throughput.
- Review supply chain performance data to uncover bottlenecks and recommend improvements that balance speed, cost, inventory exposure, and risk.
- Maintain compliance with DoD requirements, documentation standards, and traceability controls to support audits and program readiness.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in supply chain planning or supply chain management, ideally in a manufacturing setting.
- At least 1 year of experience supporting NPI or change management work; experience in defense or advanced technology products is considered a plus.
- Hands-on knowledge of supply chain systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP tools, along with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
- Experience in supply planning with an emphasis on new product introduction.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-moving, agile environment and manage several projects at once.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting ability to identify and resolve supply issues effectively.
- Understanding of DoD regulations, standards, and compliance expectations for defense-related manufacturing is preferred.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work well with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through to meet deadlines.
- Comfort working both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic startup setting.
Physical requirements
- Extended periods of desk work and computer use.
- Occasional standing and walking around the office.
- Manual dexterity for keyboard, mouse, and other office tools.
- Visual ability to review screens, documents, and reports.
- Occasional reaching, bending, or stooping to access office storage or supplies.
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 20 pounds.
