About TMG

TMG partners with high-growth consumer brands as an extension of their team, providing operational, supply chain, and fractional leadership. We help founders scale efficiently by building systems, improving visibility, and managing the operational complexities of growth. Our client portfolio spans multiple CPG categories including food & beverage, supplements, personal care, and household products.

Position Summary

The Supply Chain & Operations Manager will own end-to-end supply chain execution across multiple client accounts, ensuring products move seamlessly from suppliers to warehouses and ultimately to customers. This is a high-impact, cross-functional role requiring deep expertise in demand planning, inventory management, logistics coordination, procurement, and manufacturing operations within the CPG industry. The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, and proactive, thriving in a fast-paced environment managing multiple stakeholders including suppliers, freight providers, warehouses, co-manufacturers, and internal teams simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities

Planning & Inventory Management

  • Manage demand planning by finished good (FG) SKU across multiple brands.
  • Maintain supply plans by FG SKU to ensure product availability.
  • Manage material planning for non-finished goods (NFGs), including packaging and ingredients.
  • Monitor inventory levels and proactively mitigate stock-out risks.
  • Develop inventory forecast scenarios and create replenishment plans.
  • Maintain inventory planning systems, dashboards, and reporting.
  • Ensure inventory targets and service level agreements (SLAs) are consistently achieved.

Procurement & Supplier Management

  • Review and approve purchase orders prepared by associates before execution.
  • Oversee purchase order execution, monitoring confirmations, ship dates, and supplier follow-through.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with suppliers regarding lead times, delays, and performance.
  • Proactively resolve supply disruptions, quality issues, and delivery delays.
  • Track and report on supplier performance metrics (on-time delivery, fill rate, quality).
  • Support supplier relationship management and periodic performance reviews.

Logistics & Warehousing

  • Coordinate freight and transportation activities for inbound and outbound shipments.
  • Manage communications with freight providers for wholesale pickup scheduling.
  • Liaise with warehouse partners on wholesale pickups, including BOLs, pickup times, and carrier coordination.
  • Coordinate inbound deliveries from suppliers to warehouses, including delivery appointments and receipt confirmation.
  • Monitor warehouse performance, inventory accuracy, and fulfillment metrics.
  • Manage warehouse communication workflows across all client accounts.
  • Serve as the primary operational liaison for warehouse-related service issues.
  • Investigate and resolve fulfillment discrepancies, mispicks, and shipping errors.
  • Identify and address customer service gaps resulting from warehouse or logistics operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives with 3PL partners.
  • Manage warehouse KPIs and performance reporting.

Regulatory & Product Data Management

  • Create and maintain UPCs and SKUs for new and existing products.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date SKU master data and UPC databases.
  • Verify UPC accuracy on new product labels, packaging designs, and artwork updates.
  • Review product artwork and packaging changes for operational accuracy before launch.
  • Support product setup and retail launch requirements (item setup forms, retailer portals, etc.).

Strategic Sourcing

  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard sourcing partners for warehousing & 3PL, ingredient and raw material suppliers, co-manufacturers and contract manufacturers, packaging suppliers, and freight and logistics providers.
  • Identify and evaluate technology systems such as WMS, EDI, ERP, and inventory management tools.
  • Conduct supplier evaluations, cost analysis, and provide sourcing recommendations.

Manufacturing & Production Planning

  • Support manufacturing capacity planning across the co-manufacturer network.
  • Coordinate production schedules with co-manufacturers to align with demand plans.
  • Monitor manufacturing performance, output quality, and production lead times.
  • Develop, maintain, and update Bills of Materials (BOMs) for all SKUs.
  • Manage and optimize Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) across the product portfolio.
  • Identify cost-reduction opportunities across manufacturing and procurement.

Operations & Project Management

  • Manage product transitions, including UPC updates, packaging revisions, and artwork changes.
  • Support new product introductions (NPIs) from planning through first production.
  • Lead retail launches and product expansions across new and existing accounts.
  • Own cross-functional operational projects from initiation through completion.
  • Maintain supply chain KPIs and reporting dashboards for client visibility.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve efficiency, service levels, and profitability.

Qualifications

Required

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in supply chain, operations, logistics, procurement, or inventory management.
  • Proven experience in demand planning and inventory management.
  • Hands-on experience managing suppliers and purchase orders.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/INDEX MATCH, and data modeling.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across internal and external teams.

Preferred — CPG Experience Strongly Preferred

Given the nature of TMG's client base, candidates with direct CPG experience will have a significant advantage. Many of the core responsibilities in this role — BOMs, UPC management, co-manufacturer coordination, retail launches, and packaging changes — are highly specific to the CPG world and require industry-specific knowledge to execute well from day one.

  • CPG experience in food & beverage, supplements, personal care, or household products.
  • Experience managing co-manufacturers and contract manufacturing relationships.
  • Experience working with 3PLs and multi-warehouse operations.
  • Familiarity with WMS, EDI, ERP, and inventory management platforms.
  • Experience supporting retail and eCommerce fulfillment operations.
  • Startup or high-growth company experience; comfortable with ambiguity and rapid change.
  • Experience managing BOMs, COGS analysis, and cost optimization.
  • Exposure to retail item setup, buyer portals, or new item forms (Whole Foods, Target, UNFI, KeHE, etc.).

What Success Looks Like

Within your first 90 days, you will:

  • Take full ownership of inventory and supply planning processes across assigned client accounts.
  • Successfully manage all supplier and warehouse communications with minimal escalations.
  • Maintain accurate and timely purchasing and logistics workflows.
  • Improve visibility into inventory and supply chain performance through reporting and dashboards.
  • Support multiple client brands autonomously with limited oversight.
  • Establish yourself as a trusted operational partner to both clients and the TMG leadership team.
