Job description
Role overview
This position sits within the Relay Operations Center, the central operations hub that oversees transportation execution across the North America supply chain network. The team helps ensure freight is collected from vendors and delivered on time to Amazon facilities and carrier hubs. When exceptions arise, the team intervenes, resolves the issue, and keeps all relevant parties updated.
Beyond day-to-day issue resolution, the role also focuses on spotting recurring network exceptions, analyzing operational data, and suggesting or driving automation and process improvements that make operations more efficient.
The work directly supports the smooth movement of transportation activity and helps maintain Amazon’s ability to deliver for customers on time.
Program manager scope
In this role, you will coordinate information across carriers, hubs, warehouses, and other stakeholders, while addressing issues that could affect customer experience or business continuity. The position calls for a practical understanding of logistics, strong written and spoken communication, and the ability to drive process changes through to completion. Hands-on capability with SQL and scripting in R or Python is also expected.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate with external stakeholders such as carriers and vendors, as well as internal teams including retail, finance, software support, and fulfillment centers.

- Build and interpret performance metrics that help improve business outcomes.
- Define business and functional requirements for technology teams that build and improve the systems used by ROC.
- Identify the operational impact of trends and use data-driven judgement to guide decisions.
- Raise issues or data inconsistencies to the right owners, then track them through to closure.
Basic qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification.
- Intermediate-level Excel skills, including pivot tables and charts, multi-criteria lookups, nested IF/logical formulas, data cleaning, and array formulas.
- Working knowledge of SQL.
- At least 2 years of experience in supply chain work.
