Role Overview
This position supports supply and demand planning by improving the quality of planning data across SKUs, strengthening reporting discipline, and providing analytical support. The role sits between data, systems, and planning execution, with a focus on improving visibility, reducing manual work, and enabling more stable planning processes.
The specialist will help ensure that planning data remains accurate, consistent, and easy to access for demand planning, supply planning, and S&OP activities.
Responsibilities
- Maintain standardized datasets used for demand planning, supply planning, and reporting activities
- Coordinate information across SAP, Excel, PSI files, and planning/reporting tools to minimize mismatches
- Check data quality and help resolve discrepancies to reduce manual reconciliation work
- Document planning data definitions, assumptions, and key inputs
- Analyze trends, risks, and performance gaps to support better planning decisions
- Create and maintain standardized reports and dashboards that bring together data from multiple sources for S&OE and S&OP discussions
- Build repeatable reporting processes to cut down on ad hoc requests
- Improve visibility into major planning drivers such as forecast performance, inventory risk, and supply constraints
- Support planning cycles by making sure data is ready, aligned, and consistent across tools
- Manage version control of planning outputs to avoid conflicting plan versions
- Document planning assumptions to improve traceability and decision visibility
- Help reinforce standard planning practices through consistent use of data and reports
- Support tracking and upkeep of planning KPIs such as forecast accuracy, bias, inventory health, service levels, and plan adherence
- Ensure KPI definitions and reporting standards stay consistent across the team
- Support adoption of standardized tools, reports, and planning processes
- Develop structured datasets and data models that support standardized reporting and visualization tools such as Power BI
- Use data and analytics tools to improve planning visibility and performance insights
- Maintain planning tools, templates, and reporting structures so outputs remain consistent and reliable
- Identify and implement improvements that reduce manual effort, including automation of data preparation and reporting
- Support upgrades to planning tools, data structures, and system workflows to improve efficiency and execution
- Coordinate planning across SKUs by keeping data aligned and visible
- Monitor planning exceptions and changes that affect demand and supply plans
- Provide structured data and analysis to support adjustments and decisions
- Contribute to planning activities that require extra coordination or analysis
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, Mathematics, or another STEM-related field preferred
- 3 to 5 years of experience in data analytics, supply chain analytics, or planning support roles
- Master’s degree in a relevant field may substitute for some professional experience
- Experience supporting planning, S&OP, or operational decision-making environments is strongly preferred
- SAP experience is strongly preferred
- Experience improving data-driven processes or systems
- Experience combining data from multiple sources such as ERP systems, spreadsheets, and external files into consistent datasets
- Advanced Excel skills, including data structuring, modeling, and controls
- Experience with reporting and visualization tools such as Power BI
- Experience with automation and workflow tools such as Power Automate
- Ability to handle and validate large, complex datasets
- High attention to detail and strong data discipline
- Ability to manage recurring processes and deadlines
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
