Job description
About the Company
ButcherBox is a certified B Corp based in Boston and is celebrating its fourth consecutive year on Inc.’s Best Workplaces list. The company is built around the idea of doing better—offering 100% grass-fed, grass-finished beef, free-range organic chicken, crate-free pork, and wild-caught seafood delivered directly to members. All products are humanely raised or wild-caught, with no antibiotics or added hormones ever.
The business is driven by a broader mission to improve outcomes for people, animals, farmers, and the planet. The team values collaboration, support, and a commitment to raising standards rather than taking shortcuts. It is a place for people who want their work to contribute to meaningful change.
Role Overview
ButcherBox is looking for a Procurement Analyst to help deliver high-quality meat and seafood while also building the data assets and insights needed to support that work at scale. This role is centered on analytics, reporting, and cross-functional partnership, with a focus on improving visibility across protein supply chains.
The right person will be naturally inquisitive, think in systems, and take full ownership of the analytical support needed by the teams they work with. This is a visible, high-impact position where analysis directly influences important business decisions.
What You'll Do
- Create and maintain reporting that compares actual results against forecast across major protein categories, surfacing variances, root causes, and emerging patterns so teams can act early.
- Design data models and reporting tools that track protein cost and quality across the supply chain.
- Work with finance and commercial partners to align forecast assumptions, budgets, and actual performance.
- Support reporting on yield and conversion, including raw-to-sellable yield, trim loss, and waste, to increase transparency around cutter performance and operating efficiency.
- Analyze product performance metrics such as repurchase rate, cannibalization, and seasonality, and provide detailed insights on SKU-level behavior.
- Perform scenario planning and what-if modeling around changes in demand, yield, and cost inflation to help the team evaluate risk and opportunity before they become issues.
- Build and improve dashboards that monitor key procurement indicators such as inventory weeks on hand, product weights, and unit cost to support fast, informed decisions.
Qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience in an analytical position; background in procurement, supply chain, or demand planning is preferred.
- Strong technical capability in analytics and data tools; experience with Databricks SQL, Power BI development, or similar cloud-based analytics environments is preferred.
- Ability to simplify complex information into clear recommendations and influence decision-makers.
- A naturally curious mindset and eagerness to learn.
- A practical, action-oriented approach where analysis is expected to drive real business change.
- Ability and willingness to commute to the Watertown, MA office 2 to 3 times per week.
Success in the First Year
By the end of the first year, you would be expected to own the core procurement dashboards, help create at least one new data model that improves visibility into the supply chain and purchasing decisions, and become the main analytical partner for the procurement team.
Compensation
The salary range for this role is $103,000 to $127,000.

- Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, plus an employer-funded HSA and short- and long-term disability coverage.
- 401(k) plan with a strong employer match.

- Annual learning and development stipend, plus access to personal and professional coaching through BetterUp.
- A free Custom Classic ButcherBox every month and weekly lunch reimbursement.
- Reimbursement for wellness activities, a strong employee assistance program, fertility benefits, life insurance, and additional support.
