About the role
Ogilvy Australia is looking for a Strategist to join its highly accomplished strategy team in Sydney. This role is part of a group that helps create strong, effective brand work for major clients such as Coca-Cola, ING and others.

The Strategy & Planning function sits at the heart of Ogilvy Australia’s creative output. The team brings together curious thinkers who equip creative teams with clear insight and strong strategic direction. Their focus is on producing work that delivers real business impact and helps brands grow.
What you’ll do
- Develop brand, communication and creative strategies that address real client challenges
- Use both qualitative and quantitative research to uncover human, cultural and category insights
- Spot growth opportunities by understanding consumer behaviour, trends and culture
- Write clear strategic briefs that inspire creative teams
- Work closely with creatives, account teams and specialists from brief stage through to delivery
- Support strategic recommendations, workshops and client-facing presentations
- Build confidence in explaining and defending strategic thinking in front of clients
- Track campaign performance and translate results into practical learnings
- Partner across disciplines to deliver integrated and meaningful outcomes
What you’ll bring
The ideal candidate will have 1–3 years of experience in strategy or planning within a creative agency, along with a strong foundation in brand, communications or creative strategy development. You should be comfortable turning research into clear insights and recommendations, and bring real curiosity about people, culture, brands and business. This role also calls for confidence in client conversations, a genuine interest in creativity, and a collaborative mindset with a strong appetite for learning.
