About the role
Aggreko is looking for a careful and proactive Store Person / General Hand to support a cutting-edge hybrid power project involving thermal, battery energy storage (BESS), and solar systems. In this position, you will manage site stores efficiently while also assisting with general labour and housekeeping tasks to help keep the project running safely and smoothly.
The role is based at the Girrahween project site in New South Wales, and local candidates from Miles or Chinchilla are preferred. This is a 6-day workweek with 10 hours per day.
Store and materials duties
- Handle materials planning to support both local and project business needs.
- Pick, pack, load, and unload items accurately according to packing lists.
- Coordinate with the purchasing team and other stakeholders to make sure unavailable parts are delivered on time, escalating unresolved issues when needed.
- Work with the logistics team to arrange and track airfreight and sea-freight bookings and collections.
- Keep delivery performance on target and contribute to ongoing improvement efforts.
- Maintain accurate records for picking, allocations, transfers, and related documentation so inventory accuracy targets are met or exceeded.
- Check incoming stock requests for the central store and provide updates on expected arrival times to the relevant teams.
- Review incoming stock transfers into central stores, release orders for allocated parts, and follow up with purchasing on shortages.
- Notify the supply chain team about shortages or unavailable parts to support timely project supply.
- Track upcoming demobilisations and take the required actions in advance.
- Visit project sites when needed to support mobilisation or demobilisation activities.
Skills and experience needed
- At least 2 years of experience in a Store Person, Warehouse Assistant, or General Hand position, ideally in construction, industrial, or power generation settings.
- Prior exposure to large projects, especially renewable energy projects such as solar and BESS, or thermal power work, is highly valued.
- A current driver’s licence and forklift operator certification are required.
- Comfort using basic computer tools for inventory systems, including Excel and simple database entry.
- Good physical fitness for hands-on site work.
