Role overview

The Store Lead works alongside the Store Manager to help the store team hit sales targets through hands-on coaching, a strong selling culture, and smooth day-to-day operations while serving as manager on duty. In this role, you will be given store keys and may open and close the store when scheduled.

Leadership responsibilities

  • Work with the store leadership team to guide staff toward sales, service, and operational goals when acting as manager on duty.
  • Lead by example, coach actively, and reinforce company values in daily work.
  • Share priorities and selling updates clearly so the team can act on what matters most.
  • Support recruiting efforts and help maintain a diverse and inclusive environment.

Performance responsibilities

  • Help the management team deliver on business plans covering sales, customer service, and operations.
  • Use store reports to better understand performance and inform decisions.
  • Take part in outreach efforts that can generate business and pass relevant leads to the Store Manager.
  • Spot performance gaps and work with leadership to create development plans.

Operational excellence

  • Partner with management to make sure staffing supports store initiatives and operational tasks.
  • Help train staff on internal operating processes as needed.
  • Stay current on company messages, policies, directives, and new initiatives.
  • Support the rollout of store programs that improve sales, service, operations, and brand presentation.

Workplace culture

  • Help create a workplace where ideas and contributions are respected and recognized.
  • Promote ongoing learning and development by using training tools effectively.
  • Act as a positive role model and provide energetic, encouraging leadership.
  • Support regular team meetings so everyone stays aligned with company updates.

Customer experience

  • Assist in coaching the team on service standards that help deliver an outstanding customer experience and strong Net Promoter Score results.
  • Use customer feedback to address or prevent service issues.
  • Work with the management team to keep the store visually aligned with brand standards and marketing plans.

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of experience in retail or sales.
  • Strong judgment, creativity, and a good understanding of store business trends.
  • Self-driven, goal-oriented, and comfortable thinking strategically.
  • Solid organizational and leadership abilities.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
  • Good active listening and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to coach and build high-performing teams.
  • Comfort using technology systems, business applications, Microsoft Office, and video conferencing tools.
  • Ability to work with a computer and point-of-sale system.

Physical requirements

This position requires standing and walking for most of the shift, along with frequent bending, squatting, twisting, lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing a ladder to access merchandise or supplies, and the ability to identify fabric patterns and colors.

Work arrangement

You may have the option to work voluntarily across multiple store or site locations and across multiple brands.

Compensation

The pay range for this role is $18.28 to $23.76 per hour. Final pay is determined based on skills, background, and experience. Base pay is aligned to the local market and may be affected by prevailing wage requirements where applicable.
