Role overview

The store driver supports day-to-day store operations by delivering auto parts to professional customers, handling returns, and helping keep the branch organized, clean, and customer-ready. The role also includes working with customers in person, supporting sales efforts, and building strong relationships with key business accounts.

Key duties

  • Prepare, stage, and safely transport parts to professional customers.
  • Collect returned items and cores from customers.
  • Distribute weekly and monthly sales flyers and help promote current deals and loyalty initiatives.
  • Collect outstanding credit accounts on a daily basis.
  • Maintain strong relationships with MainStreet and National Pro customers and share delivery-based customer insights with the CPP.
  • Support upselling and cross-selling efforts to help raise average order value.
  • Keep the store clean and presentable, including floors, restrooms, shelving faces, dusting, and the parking lot.
  • Assist with stocking tasks such as truck unloading, back stock organization, and cycle counts.
  • Stay current on inventory and new product arrivals to better support sales conversations.
  • Interact with walk-in customers, learn what they need, and suggest suitable parts or services.
  • Carry out additional tasks as needed.

  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends.
  • Confidence in customer interaction and product promotion.
  • Willingness to learn new products and selling techniques.

Experience and education

  • Previous experience with automotive parts is preferred.
  • A high school diploma or an equivalent qualification is required.
  • A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record is mandatory.

Physical demands and work setting

This position involves mostly standing and walking. The job also requires speaking and hearing clearly, using hands and fingers, reaching, climbing or balancing, and bending, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Employees must frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds and may occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds with assistance. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, and depth perception, along with the ability to adjust focus.

The role is generally performed indoors, but there may be occasional outdoor work in different weather conditions, such as when installing batteries or wiper blades. The environment can also include moving mechanical parts, heights, chemicals, electrical shock risk, explosives, vibration, and moderate noise.

Compensation and benefits

The expected pay range for this position is CAD 17.60 to CAD 18.85 per hour for a new team member. The final rate depends on factors such as location, retail experience, automotive knowledge, education, leadership experience, other relevant skills, and shift premium if applicable.
