Job description
Role Overview
Jumbuck Pastoral is seeking a motivated Station Hand to join the crew at Mobella Station, a major sheep property in South Australia’s North West pastoral region. The station is roughly the size of Kangaroo Island, and the position is suited to someone who enjoys outdoor work, wants to build new skills, and is interested in genuine outback station living.
Every day on the station brings different tasks, so this role will suit a practical person with a positive attitude who is comfortable working in a supportive team environment where mindset is valued as much as experience.
What You’ll Do
- Operate 2-wheel motorbikes for station work
- Assist with sheep mustering and other livestock duties
- Carry out water runs across the property
- Help with fence repairs and wider station upkeep
- Support irrigation-related tasks
- Handle vehicle and motorbike servicing and basic maintenance
- Support livestock welfare and animal care activities
- Step in wherever needed to keep the station running smoothly
What We’re Looking For
- A can-do attitude and a genuine willingness to learn
- Ability to follow instructions and contribute as part of a team
- Comfort with remote living and station community life
- Interest in hands-on, practical work
- Motorbike riding experience is preferred
- Enthusiasm for sheep and station-based work
What’s Included
- Competitive pay
- Accommodation and meals supplied
- Starlink internet access
- A generous bonus arrangement
- 6 weeks of annual leave per year
- Training, guidance, and real opportunities to develop your skills
- An outback lifestyle with a strong sense of community
Additional Information
You will be joining a crew that values pride in the land, care for livestock, and looking after one another. This is an opportunity for someone seeking adventure, good company, and a role that offers something different from a standard job.
Application Note
Applications are invited from people who are keen to embrace station life and contribute positively to the team.
