Responsibilities

  • Act as a registered, accountable, and autonomous nurse, prioritizing patient well-being and taking personal responsibility for all actions and decisions.
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, develop care plans, implement and supervise safe, compassionate care, and evaluate its effectiveness.
  • Serve as a leader and mentor for junior staff, supporting their professional development and fostering a productive clinical environment.
  • Manage quality of care, clinical outcomes, and advocate for the patient experience while ensuring effective resource management.
  • Provide a high standard of individualized patient care, incorporating relatives/carers as appropriate, and ensuring care is evidence-based and patient-centered.
  • Assist in the management and organization of nursing services within the clinical area, including the training and supervision of junior staff and trainees.
  • Contribute to service development through a creative and innovative approach, driving excellence within the department.
  • Act as a resource nurse for the area and a link for promoting integrated specialist services.
  • Develop nurse-led practice initiatives within the Long-Term Condition (LTC) Hub.

Requirements

  • Must be a registered nurse with current NMC registration.
  • Demonstrate leadership qualities, integrity, and trustworthiness.
  • Ability to act with openness and transparency.
  • Commitment to upholding the values and beliefs of the Trust and the NMC Code of Conduct.
  • Willingness to mentor and manage junior staff.
  • Ability to promote a creative and innovative approach to service development.
  • Experience in managing quality, clinical care, and patient advocacy is beneficial.
