Job description
Role overview
In this position, you will lead a large, varied team and help ensure the operation keeps up with demand. The role is practical and fast-moving, giving you exposure to the complexity of a global business and to the systems and processes that keep operations running smoothly.
Amazon is seeking an early-career leader who can take ownership, make an impact in Operations, and develop a people-centered leadership approach. This is a front-line management role for someone who is organized, energetic, and ready to help shape the future of online retail.
What you will do
- Lead a team while also handling administrative duties and helping build a positive team environment.
- Promote a workplace culture focused on safety and employee wellbeing.
- Review performance data and put corrective measures in place to keep quality and productivity at strong levels and to meet business goals across all shifts.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, boost efficiency, and raise customer service standards.
- Encourage best practices and ongoing improvements in areas such as health and safety and productivity.
- Work with other managers to align and standardize shift processes.
Day-to-day environment
You will be based at an operational site and work rotating shifts. A major part of the job is maintaining safety standards across your team and site while also keeping processes efficient. Your day will involve balancing routine team management, daily operational duties, escalations, improvement projects, and contingency planning.
You will also coordinate with internal teams and external partners to keep customer demand and service targets on track. This includes reviewing performance metrics with business leaders and discussing possible technical improvements with engineers.
About the team
Amazon Logistics manages last-mile delivery in partnership with third-party distribution businesses. The team focuses on creative problem-solving and continuous improvement to get products to customers efficiently. Its delivery network supports services and concepts such as Amazon Fresh, Prime Now, and Amazon Restaurants.
There are two major parts to the work: operations under the roof, where products are processed for dispatch, and on-the-road delivery activity through Amazon Flex. The operation is people-focused, supports night work in many locations, and commonly runs with 24/7 shifts.
The organization also keeps working on innovative delivery models, better customer experience, and ways to reduce its carbon footprint, supported by technology and a range of vehicles including electric vehicles.
Culture and growth
The company emphasizes inclusion, learning, curiosity, and earning trust, supported by its Leadership Principles. It also values work-life balance by offering flexibility in working hours. New team members receive support through mentorship, knowledge sharing, and opportunities designed to build broader professional skills.

- Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills are necessary.
- You should have at least 1 year of leadership experience in retail, distribution, or a similar environment.
