Job description
Role overview
This role is based in Sentosa Island, Singapore, with a monthly salary range of SGD 4,500 to SGD 5,000. The Sommelier will help deliver a refined wine experience across the resort’s restaurants by guiding guests with informed selections, managing wine service standards, and supporting the broader beverage program.
Wine service and guest experience
- Deliver polished wine service and make thoughtful recommendations, including food-and-wine pairing suggestions that elevate the dining experience.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of grape varieties, wine regions, vintages, and tasting characteristics.
- Help ensure consistently high service quality and personalized interactions in all dining outlets.
Wine program support
- Support the upkeep of the wine and beverage list so that information remains correct and items stay available.
- Assist with wine promotions, tasting sessions, and other wine-focused guest activities within the resort.
Inventory and cellar management
- Monitor wine stock levels and rotation practices to reduce wastage and spoilage.
- Help maintain proper storage, arrangement, and presentation of wine cellars.
- Prepare inventory and sales reports when needed.
Vendor and operational support
- Coordinate with suppliers and distributors for wine deliveries and product information.
- Partner with restaurant managers and service teams to keep beverage operations running smoothly.
Training and team support
- Share wine knowledge with frontline service colleagues to strengthen service quality.
- Take part in wine training sessions and ongoing learning opportunities.
Additional information
Preferred certification includes WSET, Court of Master Sommeliers, or an equivalent qualification. The ideal candidate should have 3 to 5 years of experience in wine service gained in a fine dining restaurant, luxury hotel, or integrated resort setting. Strong knowledge of wines, wine-producing regions, and food pairings is required.
