About the Role

The Software Engineer (Engineer 2) uses solid technical understanding to solve business challenges, assess how well technology is working through gathering requirements, testing, research, and investigation, and recommend improvements. The role involves working with customer needs to deliver solutions that meet expectations. It also requires using several development frameworks, including API and UI technologies, to build and release features for both internal and external users.

Work Arrangement and Locations

This is a telework-first position with both work-from-home and hybrid options. Candidates applying for remote work must reside in one of these U.S. states where Entegral holds business licenses: AZ, FL, IL, LA, MD, MI, MN, MO, NJ, NV, NY, OH, OR, PA, TN, TX, VA, WA, or WI. Employees in flexible or fully remote roles must have dependable high-speed internet and a dedicated workspace. Travel to company offices for meetings or training is required 2 to 4 times per year.

Compensation and Benefits

The stated salary range is $107,700 to $134,400 annually. Final base pay depends on factors such as role, location, qualifications, market conditions, and business needs. Bonus pay may also be available depending on the position.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute on a self-directed team and deliver code that is production-ready after testing.
  • Take part in and help lead design discussions and code review sessions.
  • Create, run, and maintain advanced automated tests, scripts, data, and related drivers in line with recognized SDLC practices.
  • Join the on-call and after-hours support rotation for production systems.
  • Build complete application features spanning the user interface through the database layer.
  • Develop APIs and collaborate with other teams on integrations.
  • Support tactical work such as coding, design reviews, technology exploration, metrics improvement, and process enhancements.
  • Investigate and resolve issues in existing applications.
  • Continuously improve performance through self-evaluation, training, skill building, and goal setting.

Qualifications

  • Candidates must already be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship from the company.
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
  • A minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Applicants should be able to travel to company offices for meetings or training 2 to 4 times per year.
  • Remote workers need a reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated workspace.
  • Applicants must live in one of the approved states: AZ, FL, IL, LA, MD, MI, MN, MO, NJ, NV, NY, OH, OR, TN, TX, VA, WA, or WI.
  • A bachelor’s degree in a related field plus at least 3 years of enterprise-level application development experience is required, or a coding/technology bootcamp certificate plus at least 5 years of enterprise-level application development experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience with SQL or NoSQL databases and database migration scripts is required, including experience with SQL Server, MySQL, or Mongo.
  • At least 3 years of experience building solutions with .NET is required.
  • Hands-on experience with ASP.NET Core for REST APIs and web applications is required.
  • Strong proficiency in C# and modern .NET Core / .NET 5+ frameworks is expected.
  • Experience designing and building software in distributed systems, including container tools such as Docker, is required.
  • Experience creating software in cloud or cloud-native environments such as Azure, AWS, Google, or Kubernetes is required.
  • Experience with SaaS development using CI/CD and DevOps practices is required.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams is required.
  • Basic familiarity with Java and Spring Boot is expected, along with a willingness to learn and develop further in those technologies.
