This job is based in Plano, TX and is designated as hybrid. Candidates must live within a reasonable commuting distance.

Applicants must already have the legal right to work in the United States and must not need assistance for any work authorization process, including H-1B, O-1, E-3, H-1B1, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 STEM OPT, F-1 CPT, portability benefits, or similar arrangements.

What you will do

  • Work with Agile teams to move features from idea stage through to production release.
  • Help develop and support scalable cloud-native services built on AWS.
  • Participate in technical conversations, architecture/design reviews, and team planning.
  • Produce clear, maintainable code in TypeScript, Python, or Java, following engineering standards.
  • Take part in code reviews as both reviewer and contributor to improve quality and grow technical capability.
  • Investigate and resolve issues across different layers of the stack with guidance from senior engineers.
  • Build familiarity with good engineering practices such as testing, monitoring, version control, and deployment processes.
  • Own well-defined assignments and gradually take on more independent delivery responsibilities.

What the team is looking for

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience gained through bootcamps, self-study, or a portfolio.
  • Up to 2 years of software engineering experience; internships and academic projects are included.
  • Basic proficiency in at least one backend language, with TypeScript, Python, or Java preferred.
  • Understanding of RESTful APIs and how to build and use them.
  • Working knowledge of Git and collaborative development practices such as branching, pull requests, and code review.
  • Willingness to contribute to planning, reviews, testing, and production support.
  • Some exposure to cloud services, ideally AWS, including conceptual awareness of Lambda, S3, and DynamoDB.
  • Experience writing unit and integration tests in line with quality expectations.
  • A curious, growth-oriented mindset and comfort admitting when you need to research a problem.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to describe your work clearly and ask for help when needed.

Nice to have

  • Practical experience with AWS tools such as Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, or S3.
  • Understanding of serverless design patterns.
  • Exposure to infrastructure-as-code tools such as AWS CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform.
  • Experience with containers or container orchestration, such as Docker or ECS.
  • Familiarity with observability platforms like Dynatrace, CloudWatch, Datadog, or similar tools.
  • Contributions to open-source work or a strong personal project portfolio.
  • Experience using AI-assisted coding tools such as GitHub Copilot.
  • AWS certifications such as Cloud Practitioner or Developer Associate.
