Role overview

This is a permanent, full-time social work position based in Panmure, Tamāki Makaurau. The role offers a salary band of $81,206 to $97,557, with placement dependent on experience and annual progression available based on tenure.

You’ll join a committed team focused on improving outcomes for children, young people, and families. The work is practical, fast-moving, and centred on helping tamariki and rangatahi be safe, strong, and able to thrive.

What the role involves

In this position, you will work alongside other social service providers, agencies, and community partners to make sure the needs of the child or young person and their family are understood and addressed. The work requires a strong commitment to creating positive change and supporting wellbeing in the community.

What you need to bring

  • Current registration with the New Zealand Social Work Registration Board, or the ability to register
  • A valid Annual Practising Certificate
  • A social work qualification that is recognised by the SWRB
  • A full, clean, current New Zealand driver’s licence
  • Strong written and verbal communication ability
  • Proven resilience, adaptability, and problem-solving skills
  • Good planning, organisation, and time management capabilities
  • Confident use of computers and Microsoft Office tools, plus strong report-writing skills
  • Awareness of cross-cultural practice, including knowledge of tikanga Māori and Pacific peoples’ culture
