Job description

Position Summary

SET Active is hiring a Social Media Manager to lead strategy across its social channels. In this role, you will shape and maintain the brand’s presence across multiple platforms, juggle several priorities at once, and partner closely with creative teams to reach the intended audience. This is a strong fit for someone who thrives in a creative, high-energy, and deadline-driven environment.

Core Responsibilities

  • Build and continuously refine social strategies across platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, Facebook, Snapchat, YouTube, and Twitter.
  • Stay current on platform changes, algorithm shifts, new tools, and emerging channels to guide social decisions.
  • Connect social plans to the broader marketing calendar and business goals, including awareness, acquisition, engagement, and conversion.
  • Create and manage a monthly content and posting schedule aligned with key dates, marketing priorities, and upcoming launches.
  • Spot opportunities for fresh social campaigns and turn ideas into concrete initiatives.
  • Keep engagement strong and KPI-focused while protecting the brand’s voice and visual identity.
  • Set platform-specific performance goals, track results regularly, interpret analytics, and present monthly reporting.
  • Partner with the Marketing team to evaluate social data alongside marketing performance and sales outcomes.
  • Collaborate across teams on influencer and PR gifting, paid social, content production, UGC, and community programs.
  • Monitor direct messages and the general inbox, coordinating with Customer Service when needed.
  • Respond to comments and actively participate in community conversations.
  • Lead and support the Content Producer so all published material follows brand standards and messaging pillars.

Content Responsibilities

  • Travel 1 to 3 times per month with the creative team to capture and publish social-first content from store openings, campaign shoots, activations, and cultural moments.
  • Work closely with creative partners such as Content Specialists, Graphic Designers, and Copywriters to oversee execution of campaigns and content.
  • Prepare briefs and shot lists for stakeholders so each social channel receives the content it needs.
  • Review all social output to ensure brand standards are upheld in everything from styling and color choices to copy.
  • Step in to create or edit content and copy whenever needed.

Instagram Focus

  • Build and present the Instagram grid for review by the VP of Brand and CEO, carefully incorporating feedback until final approval is reached.
  • Plan and schedule engaging daily Stories that support marketing goals, grow reach, encourage interaction, tell the brand story, and help drive sales.
  • Oversee timely replies to comments and direct messages, including support during evenings and weekends when required.
  • Engage with community members and influencers, especially on posts where the brand is tagged.

TikTok Focus

  • Contribute to TikTok ideation and production with support from the Content Specialist.
  • Develop TikTok concepts that strengthen engagement, expand audience reach, reinforce campaign narratives, and support sales goals.
  • Direct the Content Specialist to ensure TikToks are produced and published in line with the broader strategy at a pace of at least one post per day.

Influencer Marketing

  • Partner with the Influencer Marketing Specialist to nurture existing creator and community relationships while strategically growing the network.
  • Oversee tasks such as maintaining the influencer database, keeping contact and size details current, coordinating daily product gifting, managing the SET Concierge program, engaging with influencer content, messaging influencers, and reposting creator content.

Leadership

  • Lead, motivate, and inspire the Social Media team.
  • Look for ways to raise work quality, improve employee experience, and streamline processes.
  • Provide clear direction and support so the team can deliver on brand vision and timelines.

Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in social media, ideally with a DTC e-commerce brand.
  • Strong understanding of how social media supports marketing, with the ability to balance both community and business perspectives.
  • Deep fluency in major social platforms, including newer and emerging ones.
  • Demonstrated success in planning and delivering social campaigns that meet creative, strategic, and deadline expectations.
  • Strong appreciation for the brand’s visual style and a high standard for aesthetics.
  • Excellent writing ability with sharp attention to detail, grammar, tone, and brand voice.
  • Solid experience using social analytics and measurement tools to shape strategy.
  • Confident verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, collaborative setting with the ability to prioritize and multitask under pressure.
  • Willingness to travel and work on the ground 1 to 3 times per month wherever the brand is active.
