Role Overview

GALLO is seeking a digitally native, social-first Social Media Manager to shape its organic social presence and influence how its brands appear in culture. The role will help define company-wide social standards, grow a creator ecosystem, and lead culturally relevant strategy across platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, Pinterest, LinkedIn, and others.

You will play a key part in building the Social Center of Excellence by creating frameworks, governance approaches, and operating standards that improve quality and consistency across the company’s brands. The position requires strong platform knowledge, the ability to anticipate algorithm changes and emerging trends, and a forward-looking approach to platform partnerships and AI-enabled efficiency.

This leader will manage and develop social and content specialists, set performance expectations, and encourage smart experimentation. You will partner closely with Brand, Creative, Paid Media, PR, Legal, MarTech, and Consumer Engagement teams to keep social programs aligned, compliant, and effective. The role also includes owning KPI frameworks, reporting performance, and using social listening, cultural insights, and competitor analysis to continually optimize results.

Key Responsibilities

Build and guide GALLO’s organic social strategy across multiple channels.

Develop enterprise social frameworks, governance models, and operating standards through the Social Center of Excellence.

Lead creator ecosystem strategy and support culturally relevant, first-to-market opportunities.

Use platform insights, social listening, and benchmarking to improve performance and content quality.

Oversee KPI tracking, reporting, and data-led decision-making.

Manage, coach, and elevate a team of social and content professionals.

Work cross-functionally with internal partners to deliver cohesive and compliant campaigns.

Incorporate AI-assisted tools where useful, while preserving creative quality and brand integrity.

Experience and Qualifications

Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree plus 6 years of experience in sales, marketing, advertising, public relations, or account management, including 5 years in social media marketing management with increasing responsibility; or a master’s degree plus 4 years of related experience, including 3 years in social media marketing management with increasing responsibility.

Applicants must be able to travel up to 25% for job-related duties. The role also requires being in the office at least 3 days per week, with occasional additional travel to company offices, sites, meetings, onboarding, training, and events of up to 5% as needed. Candidates must be 18 years or older.

Strong knowledge of major social platforms, creator ecosystems, web/search/zero-click trends, and the link between social and SEO is essential. Experience with enterprise social tools and AI-assisted workflows is a plus, along with excellent communication, analytical ability, and a track record of supervising and developing employees.

Preferred Background

Experience managing social media for an alcohol beverage or CPG company is a plus. GALLO also values candidates who can balance several priorities in a fast-moving environment and influence decisions among senior, diverse stakeholders.

Location and Work Setup

This position may be based in Modesto, CA, New York City, NY, or Dallas, TX. Modesto and New York require onsite presence 3 days per week, while Dallas requires onsite presence 5 days per week. The role is classified as hybrid telecommute with occasional telecommuting allowed, and candidates should live within commuting distance.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this role is $124,800 to $187,200 per year. Compensation may also include bonuses, incentive plans, or participation in tasting room tip pools, depending on eligibility. Final pay is based on experience, education, skills, internal equity, and market alignment.

Benefits may vary by work category and can include medical and dental coverage, 401(k), profit sharing, pet insurance, company holidays, access to an employee wine shop, and more. Additional benefits details will be shared before the first interview.
