Job description
About the Role
SPARK Social is a community-focused gathering destination built around food, culture, and shared experiences. As the team grows in San Jose, this role will help shape the local social presence by creating content directly from the park and sharing its daily energy online.
This is a hands-on, site-based position for someone who enjoys making, editing, and posting content regularly. The goal is to capture the relaxed, lively atmosphere guests experience in the park and translate it into engaging social media output.
Role Overview
The Social Media Coordinator will spend time on-site documenting the day-to-day activity at SPARK Social, including food trucks, vendors, visitors, live entertainment, and the overall environment. The role also supports content for email, website, and other marketing needs.
Compensation and Schedule
This position is listed in San Francisco and is described as a part-time, hourly role with pay of $24 to $27 per hour. The work schedule runs from Friday through Tuesday, with some night shifts required.
Responsibilities
- Be present on-site and capture live content across the week.
- Produce and edit short-form photo and video assets for social platforms, email campaigns, website content, and other marketing materials.
- Cover events when needed to gather additional photo and video content.
- Post daily social updates and share the truck schedule across channels.
- Highlight food trucks, vendors, guest interactions, and the overall park atmosphere.
- Assist with promotional efforts for in-house activities and partner collaborations.
- Respond to followers, comments, and direct messages to help build an engaged online community.
- Help maintain the monthly content calendar and route content for review.
- Monitor basic performance data and look for patterns or opportunities to improve results.
- Support the marketing team with other content requests as needed.
Requirements
- Strong visual sense with the ability to tell stories through video and photography.
- Experience creating and editing content specifically for social media and capturing everyday atmosphere.
- Confidence being on camera and presenting comfortably in front of an audience.
- Working knowledge of tools such as Canva, InShot, CapCut, or similar editing apps.
- Good understanding of Instagram and TikTok trends, formats, and best practices.
- Interest in food, community-driven spaces, and small businesses.
- Owns a dependable smartphone for shooting content.
- Able to work independently on-site and keep pace in a busy environment.
- Available for weekday shifts and occasional weekend coverage.
Work Expectations
This role requires active, in-person participation at the park and regular content creation throughout the week. Some evening work may be necessary depending on events and coverage needs.
