About Avista

Role Overview

Avista is seeking applicants who are dedicated to supporting people with intellectual disabilities and their families in a way that is centred on the person, rooted in the community and socially inclusive. The work should reflect the organisation’s core values, ethos, quality standards, best practice and research-based approaches.

Position Details

Social Care Worker – Day Service
Avista Dublin 15 & Dublin 7
35 hours, permanent part-time contract

Salary

Annual pay is €41,260 to €57,789 (LSI), with pay adjusted according to relevant public sector experience and pro-rated based on hours worked.

Essential Requirements

  • Qualification at QQI Level 7 or above in Social Care, Applied Social Studies, or an equivalent award that is eligible for CORU Social Care registration.
  • A CORU-recognised Social Care qualification.
  • Current CORU registration, or confirmation that an application for registration has already been submitted to CORU.
  • Strong command of written and spoken English.

Preferred Experience and Attributes

  • Previous work with people with intellectual disabilities, including those who present with behaviours of concern.
  • A person-centred, holistic approach that supports individuals to live as independently and meaningfully as possible.
  • Awareness of New Directions.
  • Willingness to help people build skills and capabilities in areas that matter to them.
  • A full clean manual driving licence and the ability to drive a service vehicle.
  • Behavioural competency at Level 1 within Avista’s competency framework.
