The company places strong emphasis on innovation, precision, and client satisfaction, with the goal of becoming a dependable partner for landmark projects that influence the built environment across the UAE.
Role Overview
The organization is hiring an experienced Site Nurse for a major construction project in Abu Dhabi. The role centers on providing medical support directly at the worksite, handling urgent care situations, and assisting with occupational health needs for a large, diverse workforce. The position is critical to maintaining worker wellbeing, supporting legal and safety compliance, and ensuring prompt medical attention in a demanding site setting.
Medical and Emergency Care
- Deliver first aid and basic healthcare support to workers on site.
- Attend to injuries and urgent medical incidents at the workplace.
- Stabilize affected employees and arrange ambulance pickup or hospital referral when needed.
- Keep emergency medical supplies and first aid points ready and in working order.
Occupational Health and Compliance
- Carry out initial health checks and observe workers with ongoing medical conditions.
- Update and maintain medical documentation in accordance with UAE rules.
- Support adherence to Abu Dhabi OSHAD and ADOSH standards.
- Assist with investigations into health-related incidents.
- Oversee site hygiene, sanitation, and welfare arrangements.
Health Monitoring and Prevention
- Conduct regular vital-sign checks and health surveillance activities.
- Support vaccination drives and heat-stress monitoring programs.
- Run awareness sessions on dehydration, fatigue, heat stress, and similar risks.
- Coordinate medical screenings before employment and at regular intervals.
Reporting and Administration
- Keep detailed logs of medical cases and treatment provided.
- Prepare monthly health updates for Project Management and HSE teams.
- Monitor medical stock and replenish supplies as required.
- Work with hospitals and external healthcare providers when necessary.
Working Conditions
This is a full-time position based on an active construction site. The role follows a 6-day work week and involves outdoor exposure in high temperatures. Emergency response duties may also be needed beyond standard working hours.
Qualifications
Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Nursing, along with a valid DOH nursing license from Abu Dhabi. A Basic Life Support certification is mandatory, while ACLS certification is preferred.
Experience
The preferred background includes 8 to 10 years of nursing experience, with at least 3 to 5 years spent in construction, industrial, oil and gas, or remote-site environments. Prior exposure to workplace injury management, emergency response, and work with multinational teams is required.
Knowledge and Skills
The ideal candidate should have a solid grasp of occupational health practices and be familiar with OSHAD and ADOSH requirements. The role also calls for the ability to work independently in remote or high-risk settings, strong English communication skills, and a professional approach to confidentiality. Knowledge of Hindi, Urdu, or Arabic is an added advantage.
Equal Opportunity and Compliance
Nova International General Contracting is an equal opportunity employer and promotes a diverse, inclusive workplace. Hiring decisions are based on qualifications, experience, and business needs, without unlawful discrimination, and in line with applicable UAE labor laws. Employment is also subject to compliance with UAE regulatory requirements, including work permits and residency visa conditions where relevant.
