About Apex Group
Apex Group, founded in Bermuda in 2003, has grown into one of the largest providers of fund administration and middle-office solutions globally. The company serves clients across jurisdictions, combines global reach with local delivery, and is supported by a workforce of approximately 13,000 people across 112 offices worldwide.
The organisation describes its culture as energetic, ambitious, and supportive, giving employees room to grow their strengths, take ownership, and help shape meaningful change in the industry.
Role overview
This position sits within the Settlements Team and requires a practical, day-to-day operational approach to support settlement services for clients and internal teams. It also acts as the second-in-command to the Settlements Team Leader, handling escalations, assisting with team management, and contributing to ad hoc projects.
Key responsibilities
- Enter trades accurately into the internal accounting platform, match them with counterparties, and send instructions to custodians within agreed timelines.
- Identify settlement-related problems, work through resolutions, and escalate to management when needed.
- Review reconciliation breaks and ensure they are investigated and cleared without delay.
- Support corporate action processing, including entries and checks, when required.
- Help the team meet all agreed service delivery standards.
- Support the development and rollout of controls and processes that maintain a robust, industry-leading control environment.
- Maintain effective working relationships with both internal colleagues and external clients.
- Step in to oversee the team when the manager is unavailable so service quality remains consistent.
- Carry out other investment operations tasks as reasonably assigned.
Skills and experience
- Prior exposure to financial markets, ideally in a settlements-focused role.
- Strong ability to plan work, manage time, prioritise effectively, and meet deadlines with professionalism and urgency.
- Comfortable working as part of a team and supporting colleagues when needed.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Capability to coach and train new team members.
- Practical problem-solving ability and initiative.
- Good command of MS Office, especially Excel at an intermediate level, and confidence using complex IT systems.
- Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering excellent service.
