Job description
The opportunity
MACA Mining is looking for an experienced Serviceperson to join its field crew on the Gruyere project. The role is based at the Gruyere Gold Mine, an open-pit site in the Yamarna greenstone belt, around 200 kilometres east of Laverton in Western Australia.
You will be working across a fleet that includes CAT 785 and Komatsu 830E haul trucks, Liebherr 9400 and Komatsu PC1250 excavators, Sandvik and Epiroc drills, plus CAT D10 dozers and CAT 16M graders.
MACA is part of Thiess and operates as an integrated contracting group across mining, civil construction, infrastructure, and mineral processing. The business focuses on continuous improvement, client service, people development, and community contribution.
What the role involves
- Supporting maintenance activities on heavy mobile mining plant.
- Operating equipment as needed for servicing and inspection tasks.
- Checking plant condition and identifying or reporting oil and fuel leaks.
- Keeping oil, grease, and fuel supplies available for use.
- Working safely and following all health, safety, and site procedures.
- Carrying out tasks independently while maintaining clear communication with the team.
What you need
- A current MR or HR driver’s licence.
- Prior experience as a serviceperson on a mine site.
- Hands-on exposure to servicing heavy mobile mining equipment.
- The ability to run equipment for maintenance and inspection purposes.
- Strong awareness of plant condition, including leak detection and stock checks for essential fluids.
- Good communication and the ability to work without close supervision.
- A solid understanding of workplace health and safety procedures and policies.
