Job description
About the Company
Slash is a fintech company focused on building a modern financial operating stack for businesses. It helps founders and operators manage their end-to-end financial workflows in one central place. The company is expanding quickly, supported by a brand and marketing approach that emphasizes originality and high production value, with video as a core creative channel.
Role Overview
The company is looking for a Senior Video Editor to take ownership of its most important video work, including customer case studies, interview-led pieces, and product demos that should feel like premium studio productions. This is a hands-on creative role for someone who can manage substantial projects from raw footage through to a refined final master.
This position is not focused on short social content. The ideal hire brings strong editing ability, has worked on larger and more polished productions, and can also operate as a shooter when needed. You will partner directly with marketing leadership and have meaningful creative influence over the final output.
Key Responsibilities
- Transform customer stories, interview content, and product demonstrations into polished, narrative-driven videos.
- Handle the full post-production process, including assembling footage, shaping the story, refining pacing, designing sound, and completing color work.
- Step in as a shooter on set or on location when required, functioning as a hybrid shooter-editor.
- Perform cinematic color correction and grading in DaVinci Resolve.
- Contribute original creative ideas and help shape direction instead of only following instructions.
What the Company Is Looking For
- A strong portfolio showing larger-scale, high-quality work, with evidence of both long-form and narrative editing experience.
- Excellent editorial judgment, especially around pacing, storytelling, and audio.
- Hands-on experience with Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve, plus readiness to work in DaVinci Resolve as the team’s preferred workflow.
- Ability to take projects from raw material to final delivery with little supervision.
- Comfort working as both editor and shooter is a strong advantage, though not mandatory.
Preferred Qualifications
- Practical experience shooting on Sony FX3.
- Ability to grade S-Log3 / S-Gamut3.Cine footage in DaVinci Resolve.
- Working knowledge of motion graphics and animation.
- 3D skills in Blender for custom renders, which would stand out strongly but are not required.
Location
San Francisco is the preferred base because the team works closely in person and shoot-day collaboration is easier onsite. Remote work may be considered for an outstanding candidate.
Compensation
The role offers cash compensation in the range of $70,000 to $100,000 per year, depending on experience and whether the candidate also brings shooting capability alongside editing expertise.
Application Notes
Applicants are expected to share a portfolio link and clearly explain the scope of work completed on each project, their specific contribution, and the pieces they consider their strongest. The team is especially interested in substantial, high-quality projects.
